PREPARE FOR THE ACT

A. PETERSON'S TEST PREP
INSTRUCTIONS FOR ACT TEST PREP PROGRAM
1. Log in to: https:// portal.necis.intocareers.org
2. Type in username: 08centurahs
password: CenturaHS2020
3. Click on My Portfolio at the top
4. Click on Create My Portfolio—complete the form and click Submit
5. Go to My Portfolio—click on College Entrance/GED/ASVAB tests
5. This will take you to a list of exams. Click on ACT Online Course.
6. This will take you to Peterson’s Online Course for the ACT—click continue.
7. A reminder about a Non-secure site will appear-click Send.
8. On the next screen click continue (orange).
9. Take the Pre-Assessments to have a course designed for you. They are in the areas of English, Math, Reading,
Science, and Social Studies.
10. Answer the questions—click Save and Exit when done.
11. Click red Exit button.
12. Click to close tab on Peterson’s Test Prep—this will take you back to the original page of various tests.
IF LOGGING IN TO SITE AFTER PORTFOLIO IS COMPLETED:
1. Log in to first page of NCIS—username: 08centura, password: Centura HS2020.
2. Click on My Portfolio at the top—complete username and password you created where it says Existing Users.
3. Click on exam you need.
* You should take all the pre-assessments. When completed, take the ACT Practice Test.

Launched in March 2018, this is a free personalized online learning tool and test practice program available at www.act.org/academy. Through video lessons, interactive practice questions, full-length practice tests, education games, and other materials, this targets a student's academic needs and is a personalized study plan based on previous scores form the ACT Test or Pre-ACT.
C. ACT BOOKLET
The Counseling Office has newsprint booklets from ACT with questions on each subject area. Answers are provided in the booklets along with test taking strategies, and tips for each test, in addition to knowing what to expect on test day. These are free and yours to keep. Stop by the counseling office to get a booklet.
D. PREPARING FOR THE ACT ONLINE
An electronic version of Preparing for the ACT Test is available online in pdf format. Go to www.act.org/theact/testprep
E. TEST PREP REVIEW
This is another website with a multitude of tests to prepare for the ACT, ASVAB, Accuplacer (needed for Central Community College) and many other tests. Access this at www.testprepreview.com. Scroll down to the middle of the page and access the free test prep.
